BARB WESTON - NORTH VANCOUVER, BC, BOARD MEMBER, VICE PRESIDENT
For
over 10 years, Barb Weston worked for the Ford Motor Company in Prince
George and Vancouver, BC. Barb held various positions ranging from inventory
control to department manager. In 1992, Barb went on to work in the administration
department for the North Shore News in North Vancouver. Approximately
four years later in favor of being self-employed, Barb became the assistant
manager of a rapidly expanding North Shore computer business that was
owned and operated by her husband. Working closely with people in a compassionate
and gentle way, has always felt natural to Barb. In January of 2001, Barb
was introduced to Reiki for the first time. Instantly, Barb knew this
was the turning point towards the beginning of a new journey in her life.
In February of 2002, Barb earned her Reiki Master/Teacher Level Certificates,
and decided to form her own private practice named "Inner Focus Holistic
Healing" which is located in North Vancouver, BC.
Barb now earns her living as a Reiki Practitioner, Reiki Teacher and
Ear Candling Practitioner. To add to Barb's "Holistic Healing",
she has also taken Therapeutic Touch Level I training, which blends both
Reiki and Therapeutic Touch into her healing sessions. Tools used in the
healing sessions include crystals, essential oils and specially selected
music. Most importantly, Barb works very closely with her Inner Guides
and intuition. Barb has performed an increasing number of Reiki sessions
for local clients residing on the North Shore and Lower Mainland, as well
as clients spanning as far away as the United Kingdom, Japan and Guatemala.
Barb has affected those by giving first hand experience of Reiki sessions,
which led to personal training sessions. Barb is very passionate about
the work that she does and is very humbled and blessed to be a conduit
for this loving healing energy that can be passed on to those around her.

Carell has been teaching Reiki since 2000 and healing herself through Reiki and other various techniques since 1997. She has been registered with the Canadian Reiki Association as a Reiki Master Teacher since April 2005. Her journey continued as an apprentice on the “Sweet Sundance Medicine”, a path of Shamanic teachings, from Sept 2002 through Aug of 2006. Sept 2006 brought her to the Institute of Shamanic Medicine to further her studies in the Shamanic Coaching/practitioner program. To deepen her dedication to helping others seeking a spiritual path of self governance, she joined the Rainbow Bridge Society in December of 2006 with a dream of creation; 32 other like-minded individuals that sit on a Circle of Law of self-governed humans. This journey of self-growth and enlightenment has enhanced Carell's love for Reiki to its fullest.
Carell specializes in the use of ‘Laying of Stones' in her practice of Reiki. The Laying of Stones enhances the healing energy that Reiki provides.
In Shamanism, Grandmother Earth helps us with our universal life force energy. Carell incorporates nature with her teachings in order for students to find their true essence with Reiki and how it flows for them, as she has found that each person is unique, with unique talents and gifts. Carell has added other modalities to her repertoire of healing and services, such as Hot and Cold Stone Massage, Raindrop, and Dr. Willard's Flower Essence therapies.
Her love for the holistic field has led Carell to the Wild Rose Wholistic Clinic and College as the business office manager for Dr. Terry Willard. This has allowed Carell to keep herself immersed in what she truly loves.
"Healing our spirit and bodies holistically is a gift we should never deny ourselves from learning or enjoying throughout our lives. There is so much information out there these days it is hard to know what to do or whom to choose, but if you really listen within your own heart you will know. Many blessings to those of you who have chosen to heal." - Carell, October 2007

VIRGINIA SMITH, SURREY, BC, ACTING DIRECTOR
Virginia graduated with a bachelor’s degree from SFU and for over 25 years was a Teacher/Educator in the public school system teaching in Vancouver, Surrey, Terrace and Williams Lake BC.
She is a dedicated supporter of Reiki and the Canadian Reiki Association. Virginia participates in many of the Wellness Fairs in the Lower Mainland of B.C. She hosts a monthly Reiki Share for her students, Reiki teachers/practitioners and new-comers in her community and she was honoured to join Tania Bakas in the Reiki demo representing the C.R.A. on CityTV’s Breakfast television in April 2008
In addition to her computer, professional and writing skills, Virginia uses her communication skills as a teacher to present a variety of workshops throughout the year at various Centres and locations in the Lower Mainland of B.C. Her calm and grounding presence ensures her audiences feel safe and secure, often with return requests.
Virginia’s leadership and collaborative skills have been particularly enhanced since she became a member of the Soroptimists International of the Langleys, (a group of professional women who’s mission is “To improve the lives of women and girls in our own communities and around the world”.) In addition to supporting events such as “Bras For A Cause” and “The Women’s Health Forum”, she has successfully co-chaired the “Tuning Into Our Teens” Conference in October of 2008 and 2009 and gave an interview on the day for Shaw cable TV.
Virginia was introduced to Reiki in 2001 by a neighbour who employed a Reiki master/practitioner at her clinic. She had suffered with Fibromyalgia for years and from the very first session, Virginia knew it was the modality that would change her life. Within the month, she took Level l to enable self-healing and 5 months later, Level II. Over the next couple of years she saw Reiki as a daily practice and in the Fall of 2003, she earned her Master Level.
She is a C.R.A. Registered practitioner and teacher with her own business and she works at “With Purpose Wellness Centre” in Cloverdale BC as well. Virginia especially enjoys hospital outcalls because the Reiki always permeates it’s gentle loving energy to the family members as well as the hospital patients. It promotes Reiki a little further into the community.
Reiki is a huge part of Virginia’s lifestyle and she encourages her clients to become more aware of their body mind connection and understand the quantum physics principal that we are all connected. She works with clients within her own community as well as across Canada, the US, Japan, South Africa, and Australia. She incorporates a variety of modalities into her Reiki practice: Heart Resonance, Jin Shin, and Sound; she also leads private and group meditation sessions.
Virginia believes everyone deserves love and compassion and that we are already perfect just as we are at each and every moment. Reiki helps us to gently peel the layers off so we can recognize our own perfection. “Life is not waiting for the storm to end. It’s learning to dance in the rain.” Reiki is one of our dancing teachers!
